This information was collected to inform the Environmental Impact Review on the impacts of suction dredging being prepared by the California Department of Fish and Game. As recreational suction dredge miners often operated on public lands, The Sierra Fund was interested to learn more about agencies’ experience with suction dredging, and how well staff thought miners complied with suction dredge license rules.
