The Cultural Fire Stewardship panel will bring together five experienced fire practitioners from across the Sierra Nevada Bioregion to discuss what it takes to activate community engagement in cultural fire. Each of these leaders bring years of dedication, experience, and knowledge to be able to provide a diversity of perspectives on cultural fire –from fire protection to community health, to tending food, plant, and ecosystems– this is a pivotal moment to embrace fire for our communities.

Hello! My name is Hince’nape or English name is Sadie,
I am Tanku Nisenan and Telmelti Washoe
I am from Clipper Gap and Auburn
I am apart of the Wallace and Enos family
I am a Cultural Prescribed Burn Practitioner and knowledge bearer! I practice my traditions and ceremonies, I’ve grown up in my culture my whole life, my grandma, April Wallace-Moore, taught me almost everything I know, she’s an elder and a heavy influence in my life at an early age. I make beadwork/ modern Indigenous jewelry, I’m an artist and beginner weaver, I help inspire the youth to continue their traditions as well and when I can I do public speaking about cultural fire, traditions, and sovereignty rights.
