IFS Film “Momi’ Jokoj'” to open at “We Are Still Here” Premiere July 15

Wednesday, July 15 at 8:00 p.m., at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, Indigenous Futures Society’s new short film, “Momi’ Jokoj'”, will screen as one of the opening films for the premiere of the Timbisha Shoshone documentary, “We Are Still Here.” Admission is free and tickets can be held on Ticketmaster for $2. All are welcome.

Come show support for Indigenous Guardianship in our BioRegion and celebrate Indigenous storytelling and resilience.


Momi’ Jokoj’. Running Waters. This film tells the story of a place that could become the future home of our Eco-Cultural Restoration Lab and Food Sovereignty Campus. This land will not wait, and neither will history. Created by Riparian Studios.

Our film opens for the main event – “We Are Still Here.” Views captured in the Timbisha Shoshone Homelands, including the 2026 Superbloom and Lake Manley (Badwater Basin). Wisdom shared by matriarch Pauline Esteves, and an appearance by actor Derek Hinkey.

Exhibited at the historic Crest Theater, located in downtown Sacramento. Parking available at the Capital Parking Garage (1125 10th Street) and City Hall Garage (1000 I Street).
