Webinar and Radio Interview Recordings about The Sierra Fund’s Recent Transformation Now Available

November 4, 2024

It’s hard to believe only a month and a half ago The Sierra Fund announced its transition to becoming an Indigenous-led nonprofit fully dedicated to the Sierra Nevada region. During that time, we have been busy sharing our new mission to elevate Indigenous place-based wisdom, leadership, and guardianship to achieve reparative justice and resilient Sierra Nevada cultural ecologies and communities for future generations.

On September 24 The Sierra Fund hosted a Webinar with new CEO Brian Wallace (Washoe/Nisenan),  Executive Officer of Strategy and Operations Joan Clayburgh, TSF Board Chair Dr. Lisa Grayshield (Washoe), and TSF Board Vice Chair Joseph Miller (Big Pine Paiute). The Webinar shares our new mission, vision and programs. You can view the one hour Webinar here, or view below.

On October 7-9,  Brian also appeared on two community radio stations. Brian Wallace, CEO of The Sierra Fund, joined by his niece and F.L.I.C.K.E.R. forestry crew member Sadie Hampshire, were a part of this year’s Indigenous Peoples Day special, hosted annually on KVMR by Miss Jiff, host of KVMR’s Resilience Radio. All six of the featured presenters can be heard at the link here – scroll about halfway down the page to find the recording of Brian and Sadie speaking to Indigenous visions for Sierra resilience.
